This year, the Busan newly established and supports the development of Busan Hidden Tech companies.

Eight promising companies with annual sales of 3 billion won to 15 billion won have been designated as Busan-type hidden tech companies. The Selected companies include Interbird, an IT company that provides datasheets and overseas tidal and weather information, as well as cosmetics, semiconductor parts, marine equipment, and software development companies. Notably, Interbird has high growth potential with an average sales of 7.3 billion won in 2019 and a three-year average R&D investment of 5.4%.

Acting Mayor Byun Sung-wan said, "We have established a hidden tech company development project to build a thorough growth system for small and medium-sized enterprises," adding, "We will strengthen support policies suitable for the field so that local SMEs can grow into global and world-class companies through Busan-type growth ladders."
